What I like & dislike about Sydney's public transport

What's the deal with this font?
Переглядів 829 тис.2 роки тому
Often described as 'Japan's Helvetica', what's the story behind this commonly used font? I kept seeing it in Nintendo games or while visiting Japan, so I had to deep-dive into the typography world to find out what the whole fuss was about. Thanks to @Kaihatsu for fact checking the video and providing me with helpful sources on his typography-specific Twitter account: fontendou/ LET'...

Casiopea: Japan’s Most Energetic Jazz Fusion Band

Fasten your seatbelts as we’re about to deep dive into Japan’s most energetic jazz fusion band: CASIOPEA. This is episode two of my «Japanese Music Discoveries» series. Subtitles are available, if needed. Casiopea is easily one of my favourite bands of all time, so naturally I had heaps of fun making this video essay. I started writing the script back in 2019 and spent about four to five months...

Escaping from the busy Sydney city life

Escaping from the busy Sydney city life
I've been something of a rock music snob for most of my life. To the point where very few things really register at this point in any sort of emotional way. But Takanaka's music always makes me feel good. In a really basic and uncomplicated way.
possible reason why shaken's gona is looks like this in the first place is that japanese character are fit to square opposed to alphabet's proportional characters.
This track is inaccurate. There are no spiders nor crocodiles.
did you know busses have 2% of funding but 40-50% of commuters using them. Like sure, people who commute on the regular can just look out the window and when i use unknown buslines, I do use google maps to track when to get off like i do overseas, but the main issue is overcrowding/lack of bus frequency.
I clicked on this because I thought this was some kind of mix or playlist lol
I subscribed for the transport stuff but saw this video, and now I know we have similar tastes.
Lolzz when I hear "City Pop" I can't help but hear "Shitty Pop" 😂😂😂
They remind me a lot of Chick Corea Elektric Band, which I fuxking love.
where’s this on the switch? missed opportunity

Nintendo got most of their fonts from a commercial use bundle from a company called Fontworks. The Font above is New Rodin but it's really taking me out of it because the UI looks like Wii Sports or one of the channels.

I love this font so much
It’s thank to UA-cam algorithms that I found your videos
Next time catch the bline! It’s the yellow double decker bus, with stop announcements and displays ! It’s a more streamline route (few stops) going from Wynyard to Mona vale
What the freak man😳😳
I'm a Sydney local born here and I have never noticed that the T is a darker shade of orange for interstate and intercity trains and a purple C for coaches didn't even know it existed. There is no A for Airport ot P for Plane - I guess that's not public transport. How about S for shuttle or share ride U for Uber or another confusing T in another colour for taxi . None of which are actually public transport - they are private transport forms. Metro used to be a special series of buses and were red until they were scrapped.
Great video overall, people are usually far more harsh on the Sydney network. However i disagree on you with the Lightrail. Everytime I’ve ridden one it’s always been crowded, the seats are uncomfortable (if you even get a seat due to how busy it is) and the seats are incredibly uncomfortable.
TheSquare/TSquare & Casiopea *KINGS OF JAZZFUSION*
God bless everyone and have a wonderful day ❤🙏
Anri video when?
YESS I LOVE HER
The most of Oslo's "tunnel" line is not in tunnels, and as I found out it was initially suburban trains, until the electric contact rail - the third rail - was added. Because here in Saint Petersburg the metro is smaller, though our population is about equal to the population of all the country of Norway. However, it's more frequent (train each 2-3 minutes) and all under ground. Still, Oslo being smaller as a city means it's easier to design such a useful thing. Having single tickets including all city public transport (metro, tram, buses and trolleybuses) it is quite weird there's no information table with all types of transit. That so much information can still fit on an analogue information stand is incredible. It doesn't feel complete not showing intervals, with no ferries. But one should manage to stop himself and see the border between informativeness and simplicity.
I LOVE TAKANAKA CHARLIE, I LOVE TAKANAKAAAAAA
Dude didn't Primus try to do an album about the goblins?
1:46 Takana sounds like Tommy Wiseau here and I can't not hear it
Hey @T2norway, if you love Casiopea then what are your thoughts on Shakatak? 😉 ua-cam.com/video/p4uwICKhkVM/v-deo.html&ab_channel=R472FunkChannelTV.
you’ve put me onto him so hard and now i’m in his top .001% on spotify. Thanks man!!
What an awesome band!
The screens in double-decker trains are mounted at eye-height in a part of the train you're usually going to be walking through, so it feels like you've actually made an effort to go & see what's on them & if they're minimalistic you can feel a bit hacked-off at the lack of information. This is unlike screens in the seating areas which should be minimalistic because people don't like being distracted.
release on switch when?
I'm surprised to hear that Takanaka is one year older than me. He still looks young, which is more than you can say about me. He's been around forever.
Just a comment on buses, in Liverpool it’s a train station and bus station combined like Liverpool is basically a hive for the buses
Anybody else thinking that there might be some similarities between Yacht Rock and City Pop?
Thank you for introducing me to this legend!
"He isn't falling, he's rising" - UA-cam comment under All Of Me
all earthly things pass away however, Jesus, God, will always remain, since he is not of the world. Jesus will fulfill you more than anything in this world, I speak from experience (from when i did Romans 10:9-13), he loves you and wants to be in a meaningful (not romantic) relationship with you. :) “that if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Romans 10:9-13 KJV “and saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.” Mark 1:15 KJV If you want proof that Jesus and the Bible are true look a documentary called “Ron Wyatt discoveries 2022” on UA-cam and a UA-cam channel called Expedition Bible. They both examine archeological sites and discoveries that prove the Bible, and even reference secular sources. (Just don’t convert to 7th day Adventism after watching the documentary) And lastly if you don’t know the gospel and want to be saved search up “abc’s of Salvation Teenmissions” on Google and it should be the first or second result. When you click on it read the whole thing, and do what it says and have faith in Jesus while you are doing it, do not doubt, and if it is hard for you to do what it says, ask Jesus to help you, have faith that he will, and he will. God Bless :)
They should put a public transport tarrif on land rates & make public transport free to enter, ride & leave, it would save a lot of money in machine maintenance, entry exit speeds, cash control & banking costs, etc.
I used to get to my school via the Sydney Monorail to get to Wynyard Station so I could take the train to the school. The monorail carriages if I can recall, had damp air conditioning, the carriages were humid too. And the click clack sound of the monorail and how it sounded like an air raid siren
Can you make a video about Mahavishnu Orchestra?
There are too much vocals
He made THE RAINBOW GOBILNS!?!?!? I almost spat out my soda, I've been listening to this guyfor ages without even making the connection!!
Takanaka is a paramount force in my music tastes and has been part of so many memories for me. Thanks for this video. Even with 2 mil views I wish more people would know about this man.
trains in sydney always had reversible seats
Who stopped at 0:55 to listen to the whole song?
Having grown up in Sydney, having reversible seats are the norm for me so, when I went Europe for the first time, I couldn't understand why I couldn't change the direction of the train seats. I hate sitting backwards on pubic transport.
I would recommend tatsuro yamashita if anyone wants to have this kind of feel but its a lil more city pop
